Hip-Hop Rumors: Man Shoots Up The Block For Meek Mill? Then Tweets?

Hip-Hop Rumors: Man Shoots Up The Block For Meek Mill? Then Tweets?

People are losing their minds. I almost made this an epic fail, but it would seem that they already have that today in the form of “Trayvoning,” which I think is very sick.

[Click here: Signs The World Is Coming To And End: Trayvoning]

Anyway, there is another fail on deck with a slice of signs the world is coming to an end. So, there is a rumor that a man reportedly shot up the block as he listened to Dreamchasers 2 by Meek Mill. As the story is told, he is so amped up that he goes shoots up the block and then turns around and decides to see “who got hit.” So, dude got so amped up over listening to Meek, dude airs out the block, trying to kill somebody, and then also wants to see who got shot. Got it? Right.

Here is the real foolishness.

Dude tweets it and then, on top of that, he @’s Meek Mill. Meek proceeds to add it to his Instagram, which then leads to everybody calling him an idiot. I have not been able to determine if he was just poppin’ junk or actually did shoot up the block and tweet a crime to a rapper that then sent it to his network of 1.2 million followers on Twitter.

Whoa!

VIDEO: theBREAX â€" “Breaking Out The Box”

Front man, Ruslan, is an Armenian refugee born in Baku, Azerbaijan. He moved to San Diego as a child in the 1990s, after his family fled from religious persecution in their own country. Ruslan would later meet Beleaf, a Baltimore native who was nearly homeless and moved to San Diego in search of a new beginning. The two formed a fast friendship around their shared love for Hip-Hop.

Ruslan eventually gave Beleaf a set of turntables and encouraged him to put his love for music into action â€" Beleaf instantly discovered his talent as a DJ and MC. The duo discovered they shared not only a love for Hip-Hop, but a burning desire to get better and a commitment to perfect their craft. Together, they decided to form a Hip-Hop crew that would make an impact on the culture, the San Diego community, and the world.

theBREAX have been doing exactly that. The crew has grown to include Mic B on drums, Jruckers on keys, and Bam on bass. Together, they have cultivated a large and diverse community of loyal fans through their own headlining shows, and opening up for world-class acts such as Mobb Deep, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Arrested Development, Lecrae, War, and Fred Hammond. When theBREAX released their debut album, “Never Arrive,” in December, 2011, it rocketed to #3 on the iTunes Hip-Hop charts.

Check out theBREAX video below for “Breaking Out The Box”:

Hip-Hop Rumors: Lil Wayne Expecting Another Kid?

Hip-Hop Rumors: Lil Wayne Expecting Another Kid?

(Rumors) Lil Wayne is expecting another lil’ one, according to MTO. I don’t know if this is the case, but take it for what is worth. According to this rumor, dude has put another bun in his girl’s oven.

Here’s the luckier lady:

Now, her name is Sarah Vivian and she has already given birth to one of Wayne kids. The rumor is relatively basic, all things considered. Water is wet. The sun is hot. And Lil Wayne has kids.

If the rumor is true, this makes five for Weezy. Now, that’s an ill seed!

50 Cent To Drop New Album July 3 Regardless Of Label Support

50 Cent To Drop New Album July 3 Regardless Of Label Support

(AllHipHop News Feature) 50 Cent’s anticipated mixtape is here, but 50 Cent has already proclaimed that his next album will drop on July 3, no matter what the conditions are surrounding the project.

“There’s a lot more business involved [in putting out an album] than the general public is aware of. And that part causes the actual delay with [Interscope]. I’m releasing my album July 3rd, whether is has commercial promotions or not,” he told AllHipHop exclusively. “My birthday is July 6 and I planned for it. And I’m doing everything that I planned to do regardless if its huge airplay or not. I could care less, I’m putting the record out.”

The untitled album has been in the works for a number of months and is reportedly finished at press time. Another project, Black Magic, was almost the fifth album from 50, but he scraped the entire project. Since his debut, Get Rich Or Die Trying, all of 50?s albums have been released via Interscope.

He said that the freedom from concerns of sales and business have helped him produce music closer to his heart.

“I don’t need a record to sell. How much money you think I’ma make off record sales? You think I’ma sell 13 million records?” Its starting to feel like that corner that I left,” 50 Cent explained, stressing that music’s ability to make money is now very limited. “I ain’t going to keep sitting on the records. Even if everything ain’t in order, album five will be out July 3 and they can wait another two years for me to give them another one.”

“I have new ideas so my passion for making the music hasn’t gone anywhere. That’s why I’m making music for free. The mixtape is for free unless DJ Drama is getting some paper I don’t know about. I need a piece of that paper,” 50 joked.

“Its not about the money,” Drama replied. “Its about the music.”

And musically, 50 delivers.

The Lost Tape, a 15-track opus, features cameos from Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Jeremih, Precious Paris, Kidd Kidd and beats from a number of producers like IllMind and Araab Muzik.

50 Cent explained The Lost Tape was the culmination of an attempted collaboration dating back to 2007.

“At the point is when the actual network of technology started kicking in. I started thisis50.com. So, started to put mixtapes out without actually having a DJ brand on it,” he explained. “It drove traffic to the site. It was effective there, so I said we might as well go and do [the mix tape with Drama.]“

He also said he wanted to get back to the real taste makers like DJ Drama, not bloggers that have begun to curate the culture.

“My entire career I’ve been happy with the launch of my material. I only put music out on the mixtapes to develop a consistency, because I believe consistency is the key to all success. And I’m giving out samples. If we selling dope, we gonna give out a few sample so the fiends know exactly what to expect. Drama and Gangsta Grillz is the biggest [mixtape] brand standing.”

Drama, a native of Philadelphia, explained his role in The Lost Tape at a time that seems particularly pivotal in 50 Cent’s illustrious career.

“I had my input, you know. I listened to the record upfront and we swapped out a few records to make this tape what is actually is today. When it becomes my brand, I like to treat them as albums,” Drama said. “And with Fif, because our brands are so strong, and the relevancy to the mix tape game, it would be a lot of eyes so I wanted to make sure we put the most potent project out â€" possible.”

Drama also said 50 Cent would be taking the mix tape hustle to the viral market as he has in the past, but to the next level.

“He’s doing a viral to every song. You know, every song will have a video. We worked on what were the strongest songs. Basically, treat it like an album, something people would flock to once they got an album,” Drama said.

Interscope has not release a statement or confirmation as to the release date for 50?s new album.

In the meantime, download or listen to The Lost Tape below.

Tuskegee Airman Dr. Roscoe Brown Recounts His Real-Life “Red Tails” Saga; Film On DVD Today

Tuskegee Airman Dr. Roscoe Brown Recounts His Real-Life “Red Tails” Saga; Film On DVD Today

Dr. Roscoe Brown served as one of the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II. As squadron commander of the 100th Fighter Squadron of the 332nd Fighter Group, Brown flew 68 long-range missions from August of 1944 to March of 1945. For his service, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross. In 2007, the Tuskegee Airmen were collectively awarded the Congressional Gold Medal by President George W. Bush.

The experiences of the Tuskegee Airmen are highlighted in Red Tails, a film produced by George Lucas [theatrical release date: January 20, 2012]. The film was directed by Anthony Hemingway and based upon a screenplay crafted by John Ridley and Aaron McGruder.

In support of Red Tails’ DVD release today (May 22), Dr. Brown spoke with AllHipHop.com about his Air Force experience, life under “Jim Crow,” and the value of education:

AllHipHop.com:  Long before you became a Tuskegee Airman, at what point in your childhood did you become interested in aviation?

Roscoe Brown:  At that time, aviation was very new, and Charles Lindbergh had flown across the Atlantic Ocean. When I was a kid about six years old, my parents took me to the Smithsonian Institution to look at the Spirit of St. Louis plane, and I became interested in aviation. Aviation was only about thirty years old when Lindbergh flew across the ocean. During the 1930s, they had air races. Many of us made airplane models, and we flew models of World War II planes and racing planes. Many of us wanted to be pilots, but because of the racism and the segregation, we didn’t have the opportunity. I grew up in Washington, D.C., which was a segregated city, and we went to all-Black schools. That opportunity didn’t come until the beginning of World War II when they started the Tuskegee Airmen.

AllHipHop.com:  Before joining the Air Force, you attended Springfield College. What was your area of study?

Roscoe Brown:  Springfield College was an integrated college. There were 16 Blacks out of about 650 students. I ended up being the valedictorian of my class. I majored in health and physical education, which is now known as sports medicine. I had a triple major in chemistry and premedical studies. When I came back from the service, I went for my Ph.D., which I got in the field of exercise physiology and sports medicine.

AllHipHop.com:  When you arrived at Tuskegee, what was your initial impression of Alabama?

Roscoe Brown:  Well, as you know, the Southern part of the country was racially segregated, and the segregation was very brutal in some instances and very demeaning in other instances. You couldn’t go to restaurants. You couldn’t go to theaters. That was the law of the land in the Southern part of the country, and we couldn’t do anything about it. But the reason they picked Tuskegee is that there was a famous college there [Tuskegee Institute], which was founded by Booker T. Washington in 1881. They had a substantial number of Black professionals â€" doctors, lawyers, and professors.

That environment was a positive environment. In addition, following the stupidity of segregation, the military spent a million dollars to build a separate air base to train the Tuskegee Airmen. The pilots that trained us were White pilots, most of whom really believed that we could learn to fly. The ones who didn’t were eventually transferred. So, we had some good instruction and some good support, and it’s because of that support, and our own energy, and our own desire to be the best we could be that we ended up to be as good we were.

AllHipHop.com:  How long was the training process? And at what point did you begin combat flying?

Roscoe Brown: The Tuskegee experience started in March of 1941. Pearl Harbor was December of 1941. The first class graduated in March of 1942. The length of the training for the average trainee was nine months, so that between the military orientation and your going into the service, it was about a year between the time you first went in and you finally got your wings. I went in, in March of 1943, and I got my wings in March of 1944. I completed my combat transition in July of 1944, and in August of 1944, I was flying combat missions, which I flew until April of 1945.

AllHipHop.com:  You eventually became squadron commander of the 100th Fighter Squadron of the 332nd Fighter Group. Could you talk about your rise up the ranks?

Roscoe Brown:  Well, when you start out as a new pilot, you become a “wingman” for a pilot. We flew in groups of four planes. We had a flight leader and a wingman, and an element leader and a wingman. So, you start out as a wingman, and you’re pretty good. You get moved up to element leader and then you get to be flight leader. I was flight leader after about maybe twenty missions. I flew sixty-eight missions. At the end of the war, I was commander of my squadron. Prior to that I was the operations officer for the squadron, which meant I established who was going to fly and where they were going to fly. I led my squadron when we were on the mission to Berlin â€" which is depicted in Red Tails â€" and that’s when I shot down the jet over Berlin.

AllHipHop.com:  Wow! Were you ever concerned about your plane going down at all? Did you have any close calls?

Roscoe Brown: Well, in the Black press, we got a lot of publicity, and actually in the white press, because there had been very few German jets shot down â€" particularly over Berlin. We got some recognition in the white press as well. They would call us the “All-Negro Fighter Group,” and among the white bomber pilots, we got a reputation as being the “Red-Tail Angels,” because we stayed so close to the bombers and protected them, which some of the other groups didn’t do. So, we were, in a sense, heroes among the bomber pilots and particularly in the black community.

AllHipHop.com:  After you left the Air Force, you went back to school â€" earning an M.A. and a Ph.D. as well. Talk a little bit about your transition back into civilian life.

Roscoe Brown:  I had the option of going to medical school or working for my Ph.D. I liked the idea of sports medicine, and I did some work for the Air Force on looking at the physiological effects of exercise and fatigue. And because of my background in chemistry, I did a lot of research there. After I got my Ph.D., then I worked to help start the American College of Sports Medicine. After that I got involved in educational research, particularly in testing.

My technical specialty is psychometrics, which is the field where you develop tests like the SAT and the College Board and the state assessment exams. That’s what I have done professionally. For a long period of time, I had been a college administrator. I was president of one of the colleges in New York [Bronx Community College] for 16 years, and I have been the director of the Center for Urban Education Policy at the graduate school of City University for about sixteen years. So, I’ve been pretty busy.

AllHipHop.com:  When you look at those two worlds â€" the Armed Forces and academia â€" how did they go hand in hand? At the same time, why was education so important to you in your personal and professional lives?

Roscoe Brown:  Well, for one thing, many of us who went into the military did not intend to stay. Several did stay and became colonels. Some became generals. So, we went back to civilian life. Some of us became lawyers, some became doctors, some became professors. I had the opportunity to become a professor. I was one of the first Black professors at New York University, and I become one of the leaders of the faculty there because of my work. I didn’t really think much about aviation. When I first came back from overseas, I wanted to fly with the airlines for a little bit. I was told that they didn’t hire Black pilots, which they didn’t at that time. The only place for pilots was in the Air Force, and I didn’t want to stay in the Air Force. I wanted to develop my career. Our objective as achieving African-Americans was to do so well that it would help other African-American youth to also succeed, and that’s why education has been so i mportant.

AllHipHop.com:  You’ve been given so many awards over the years. What are you most proud of when you have people look at your legacy?

Roscoe Brown:  I always tell people I’m most proud of the fact that I had four great children, but beyond that, I’m very proud of the fact that the Tuskegee Airmen were finally, collectively, recognized by Congress with a Congressional Gold Medal for outstanding service to the country. That’s an award that I cherish. The other awards depend upon the context. Some of them are because of my personal achievements, and some of them are because I’ve been involved in various causes to help change the world. I was with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America as a board member for many, many years, and I helped to develop the urban program of the Boys & Girls Clubs, which is now the largest youth-centered organization here in the United States.

AllHipHop.com: The Boys & Girls Club honored you with their Humanitarian Award. What lasting message do you want to leave with young people in particular?

Roscoe Brown:  My message is to strive for excellence, no matter where you are and no matter what the obstacles are, because excellence helps you to overcome the obstacles, it helps you to overcome prejudice, and it helps you to be a more effective citizen in the community. So, my idea is to strive for excellence.

FEEL RICH VIDEO: Charli Baltimore Breaks Down Eating Healthy To Keep Tight and Right

FEEL RICH VIDEO: Charli Baltimore Breaks Down Eating Healthy To Keep Tight and Right

Editor’s Note: “Feel Rich” is our partnership with QD3, the talented son of music legend Quincy Jones. “Feel Rich” is all about creating a healthy lifestyle for Hip-Hop culture â€" both the artists and the fans. Enjoy!

Charli Baltimore, Grammy nominated rapper and Hip-Hop diva, sat down with her daughter, Sianni, to talk to Feel Rich about eating healthy and what an impact it has had on her career.

Sianni and Charli give us their real opinions and ideas about eating healthy and how hard it can be to make good choices. Charli tells it like it is and gives us her no-nonsense approach to parenting.

Here are 11 fast foods that will keep you looking like Taye Diggs instead of Cee Lo. The best news of allâ€" none of these is a salad.

McDonald’s â€" Go for grilled food and skip the fries.

Chicken McGrill â€" This will build some serious muscle if you’re also working out right. Mess with this one after working out, but drop the mayo.

Hamburger â€" This is a smaller meal you can eat on the cheap. If you’re really hungry, make it a double, but make sure to toss the bread.

KFC â€" Chicken is supposed to be healthy, but when it gets battered, fried, and dipped in sauce, it makes Aunt Jemima’s maple syrup look like Slim Fast.

Original Recipe Sandwich â€" It ain’t a big bucket of greasy chicken, and it still fills you up. It’s cheaper, too. Hard to argue with that. Get it without sauce.

Honey BBQ Sandwich â€" Another healthier alternative to the finger-lickin’ madness of batter-fried, heart-attack-in-a-bucket.

Grilled Chickenâ€" With fewer calories and fat grams than other options, this is your best bet for a quick meal that won’t undo all your hard work.

Subway â€" Choose wheat or oat bread. They’re both better for you than white bread, and they’ll fill you up quickly. Skip the mayo and ranch, and go for oil and vinegar.

5. 6? Roasted Chicken Breast â€" It has a ton of protein and can really fill you up. To add more flavor to your sandwich, throw on tons of vegetables on top and add a little oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper.

6. 6” Roast Beef â€" If you can’t do plain chicken, here’s some meat for ya. Grab as much roast beef as you want. It’s healthy without tasting anything like cardboard.

7. 6” Turkey Breast â€" One of the lowest calorie foods that still has meat, so stock up.

Taco Bell

Grilled Chicken Burrito â€" When you’re sick of burgers, this may be one of the best. Tons of meat and not a lot of fat.

Carl’s Jr.

Charbroiled BBQ Chicken Sandwich â€" Less fat AND more protein. That means more for your guns and less for your gut.

In N Out â€" If you gotta have some meat, this is the place to go. With tons of choices and less fat than the rest, this is a top pick.

Double Hamburger without mayo â€" The burgers here aren’t as fatty, so you can get away with a double every once in a whileâ€" just watch the sauce. Even better: order it protein style â€" ditch the bread and top it with grilled onions and vegetables.

All of the above meal choices are high in protein and lower in fat and carbs. This means they’re better for your muscles, and won’t end up on your belly. Skip the extra oils, dressings, and sauces. A little won’t kill you, but too much might.

It is always better to stick to the sandwich, and skip the meals. The soda and fries will turn a healthy meal bad real fast. Go for water, milk, or a Diet Coke instead of soda, and fruit or salad instead of fries. If you must have it, SMALL is the way to go.

Drumma Boy Premieres New Video; Unifies Memphis With New Mixtape

Drumma Boy Premieres New Video; Unifies Memphis With New Mixtape

Multi-platinum rap producer, Drumma Boy has announced that he is making an attempt at unifying the city of Memphis with his latest mixtape, Welcome to My City 2.

With the rapid rise of artists like Three 6 Mafia, Yo Gotti, Don Trip, and others, Drumma Boy looks to shine light on a city he feel’s was overshadowed in the VH1 Hip-Hop Honors last year.

“Welcome to My City, first and foremost, is the unification process of Memphis. It’s like bringing the city together. Welcome To My City was inspired by Memphis being left out of and not being mentioned at VH1 Hip Hop Honors… I was like damn… How can Hip Hop Honors overlook Memphis?” Drumma Boy told AllHipHop.com in an exclusive interview.

“Many say it’s no unity here in Memephis, so I took it upon myself to create that unity through this Mixtape. By getting the hottest artist Memphis has to offer, new and established. I wanted to musically Welcome the world to my city,” he added.

Drumma attributes a lack of knowledge as a reason why many in the industry haven’t given Memphis its due credit in his eyes.

“A lack of knowledge, many not knowing Memphis history, lack of indie artists from the M not traveling and repping the city worldwide, is the reason Memphis has gone unnoticed,” Drumma Boy continued.

Drumma Boy is currently working on a new mixtape with DJ Paul titled Clash Of Da Titans, T.I.’s new album, 2Chainz’ new album, and Chris Brown’s album, along with new Jeezy projects in the works as well.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Did Karrine “Superhead” Steffans Have a Miscarriage?

The woman known infamously as Superhead is known for telling mix of fact and fiction. But, she may be hit with a dose of reality if she is telling the truth. The vixen is charging that she and her husband suffered a miscarriage after the being pregnant. She sent the following tweet: “Thanks for all the pregnancy concerns & questions. Unfortunately, my husband & I are no longer expecting. Dealing w/ this privately.” She’s got a kid with Kool G Rap and he’s now 13-years-old. Not, G Rap, the son. I don’t know why she would lie about something as serious as this, but I guess people are skeptical. Well, assuming that they are a couple going through a tough spot, lets give them that until another tweet goes out.

Welcome to the start of the best week of your life! Today’s Daily Word is dedicated to saying
no to negative thoughts! In today’s world, it is becoming increasingly difficult to stay away from negativity! It’s in the news, movies, music, at work, and unfortunately, sometimes at home! We battle daily trying to keep it at bay, but somehow it seems to seep in and take control!

Despite the difficulty and what may seem out of our control, we have more power than we are using! Positive or Negative is not a fact! It is an opinion based solely on perception! You can view a hater as a hater, or you can appreciate the misguided admiration! You can complain about the critic, or you can rejoice that you are doing something worth criticizing!

No matter what happens in your life, you can choose at any moment to think positive and move in the right direction! If you only knew the power of positive thoughts, you would stop the act of thinking negative IMMEDIATELY!!! Everything you need to live a great life is already in your control! Use it to your advantage!! NOTHING CAN STOP YOU BUT YOU!! Take back your mind and live life great!!

Hip-Hop Rumors: T.I.”Wants Out” Of The Rap Game

Hip-Hop Rumors: T.I.”Wants Out” Of The Rap Game

T.I. is not feeling the state of Hip-Hop right now, and has said in a recent interview with Power 105.1?s “The Breakfast Club”, that he is contemplating leaving the rap game. Check out what he said below:

“This is what everyone fails to realize. I want out. I want out, man. What the game is going to and what has evolved into from a personality standpoint, it goes against what I represent. What I embody, this game contradicts that. I want out. I’m in it because I love music and I have obligations, contractually.”

“It was at one time, this music was about speaking to the people who felt like you feel. Now, the people I’m speaking to, they don’t necessarily feel like how I feel. In my day, if you were rapping about something you weren’t really living, that was a strike against you. You were held accountable. Nowadays, nobody even expects you to live up to the things you rap about. That goes against what I represent, what I stand for. So if they outsell me, then that’s just all the more better for me to fade to the back and cross my legs on my desk.”

RECAP: Lil’ Kim Brings Out Missy Elliott, Eve, Juelz Santana and Fred Da Godson At Her Bronx Concert

RECAP: Lil’ Kim Brings Out Missy Elliott, Eve, Juelz Santana and Fred Da Godson At Her Bronx Concert

(AllHipHop News) Lil’ Kim, the Queen Bee, held her first hometown show at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx, New York. over the weekend as part of her “The Return Of The Queen” tour.  The show got off to an exciting start, with Saigon, Papoose Shyheim and Cassidy opening up for the Queen Bee, and Mobb Wives reality show star Drita D’Avanzo hosting. The opening acts did a great job at getting the audience turned up and ready for Kim. Throughout the one hour-long set, Lil’ Kim brought out surprise guests Missy Elliott, Eve, Juelz Santana, and Fred Da Godson, and ran through some of her most notable hits.

Kim hit the stage dressed to kill in a red military inspired jacket with a tan body suit underneath and a full band backing her up. She began her set with the twista-esque “Queen Bitch”, then performed with a vengeance, and even kicked a few dance moves with her backup dancers, nailing the choreography. Kimmy Blanco then ran through a catalog of her 2000s hits, including “The Jump Off”, “Big Mama Thing”, “Magic Stick” and “Lighters Up”.

One of the biggest moments during the show was when Lil’ Kim brought out Missy Elliott and Eve to perform the “Hot Boyz (Remix)”. The crowd was entranced, seeing what could truly be a momentous moment in Hip-Hop â€" one that could possibly start a unity among the female rappers of our time.

Lil’ Kim closed out the show spitting verses from her features on two classics â€" Mobb Deep’s “The Quiet Storm” and Junior M.A.F.I.A.’s “Get Money (Remix)”.  Although a few of the costume changes slowed down the momentum at times, Lil’ Kim did a great job at showing the crowd she still has what it takes to compete with the younger female rappers out there.  And no, there was not one mention of a certain Ms. Nicki Minaj.

Check out the video below to watch some clips from Lil’ Kim’s “The Return Of The Queen” stop in the Bronx:

Action Bronson Hit With $70k Lawsuit Over Botched European Tour

(AllHipHop News) Indie rapper Action Bronson has been hit with a lawsuit over a botched tour of Europe earlier this year.

Clockwork Music filed a lawsuit against Action Bronson in the Supreme Court of New York, on May 14.

The lawsuit claims Action Bronson entered into an agreement with Clockwork Music to perform 17-dates on the European tour.

According to Clockwork’s lawsuit, Action Bronson was paid in full for the seven dates he performed.

But the rapper bailed on the remaining ten dates, which he received deposits for.

Clockwork claims Action Bronson held almost $ 10,000 in deposit money, without returning a dime.

The lawsuit accuses Action Bronson of canceling the canceled dates as well, with the intention of harming Clockwork Music’s reputation with European promoters.

In total, Clockwork Music is seeking almost $ 70,000 in damages from Action Bronson.

EXCLUSIVE: Jimmy Henchman Trial – The Cocaine Connect Flips and Testifies

EXCLUSIVE: Jimmy Henchman Trial â€" The Cocaine Connect Flips and Testifies

(AllHipHop News) Yesterday (May 17) marked the fourth day of testimony in the trial of James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond, who is currently facing a life sentence, for allegedly heading up a $ 10 million-a-year cocaine operation.

Federal prosecutors and the DEA accuse Rosemond of masterminding a drug operation that imported hundreds of kilos of cocaine into the New York area and sent the proceeds to the West Coast.

Rosemond has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Yesterday (May 17) in court, Rosemond’s alleged main cocaine connect, Henry “Black” Butler took the stand.

Butler, who appeared in his green prison jumpsuit, is facing 10 years-to-life in prison, after being charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine, a firearms possession violation, and getting caught with hundreds of ecstasy tabs.

Henry Butler is a Los Angeles gang member, who was arrested in 2010, in Thousand Oaks, California, for his role in the cocaine operation.

Butler, who is married to the sister of Hollywood director Lee Daniels, told prosecutors that James Rosemond was his biggest cocaine customer.

Butler said that he owned an urban event planning company (Mogul Media Group) and had known Rosemond for over 18 years, since 1994.

At that time, Butler said he was working as a road manager for various artists and Rosemond was managing acts as well. The pair was also partnered in the legendary “How Can I Be Down” conferences of the 1990?s.

Their relationship turned into criminal activities in 1995, when Rosemond began ordering hundreds-of-pounds of marijuana from Butler.

The marijuana orders soon turned into small orders of cocaine later that year.

In 1995, Butler said he and Rosemond began selling 2 to 10 kilograms of cocaine in various frequencies, supplied from a connection Butler identified as a man named Adolpho Guzmán.

The cocaine was first sent to Rosemond to New York in a variety of means before they perfected the shipping method.

At first, Butler and an associate would go to Best Buy and buy computer routers, unseal the packages, put the kilos of cocaine inside the router boxes and then re-seal and ship the packages.

Jimmy Henchman

Soon, Butler and an associate began printing their own custom-made router boxes and packaging and sending their cocaine inside of those.

The pair began shipping the kilos of cocaine and money via overnight services, after two criminal associates taught Henry Butler the proper methods of sending the illegal contraband without being detected.

Butler claimed that he and Rosemond regularly transferred hundreds-of-thousands of dollars in cash between each other for large shipments of cocaine.

But in 2010, shortly before Butler’s arrest, the pair decided to scale back the operation.

“He didn’t want to talk on the phone because things were getting hot, and he felt like he was being investigated,” Butler told the jury.

Butler claimed Rosemond began accepting cocaine and shipments of money in Philadelphia, organized by a man named Leonard Bostic.

Butler also claimed the gang used encrypted Blackberrys to send and receive messages, and they almost never spoke on the phone.

After Butler was arrested, he claimed that Rosemond hired an attorney for him, and he was later visited by a private investigator and attorney Jeffery Lichtman, who allegedly passed a note to Butler, containing sensitive information about Butler’s possibility of cooperating with authorities.

This, plus the possibility of life in prison without parole, led Henry Butler to cooperate with authorities.

But, Rosemond’s attorney Gerald Shargel attacked Butler’s credibility, noting that he had already lied about several key factors in the case.

Shargel revealed that Butler also had a Proffer Agreement with authorities that would allow him to receive a reduced prison sentence, if he supplied truthful testimony about Rosemond.

But Butler allegedly lied to agents when he was interviewed, not just once, but several times, in regards to the case.

At first, Butler told prosecutors that he and Rosemond were trafficking much smaller amounts, but those amounts increased as the case continued to build.

Butler said he lied because he wasn’t sure of how much information the government had gathered about the drug gang.

Shargel also revealed that Butler’s agreement with authorities should already be off the table, since he blatantly lied about being a gang member.

During testimony, Henry Butler revealed that he was an “OG” member of the Rolling 60?s Crips in California, a fact that Butler officially denied until last week (May 7).

“Yeah, my voice counted in the neighborhood,” Butler told the jury.

Shargel claimed that Butler has already been caught in several lies and was exaggerating his testimony for a reduced sentence.

Butler said he has met with prosecutors at least 14 times since his arrest, with several sessions dedicated to testifying.

Butler also said that he received documents from Chuck Philips that stated that Rosemond had cooperated with authorities in two separate cases in North Carolina and Florida.

Butler said he ignored the documents, along with a New York Daily News article and continued to do business with Rosemond.

James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond is a well-known urban music executive, who frequently did business with artists like Queen Latifah, Game, Sean Kingston and others.

His company Czar Entertainment managed rapper Game during a violent feud between 50 Cent, G-Unit, and Tony Yayo.

Their feud escalated and ultimately ended in death, when Lowell “Lodi Mack” Fletcher, an associate of Tony Yayo, was allegedly murdered on orders of Rosemond.

Fletcher had been released from prison several months earlier, after serving time for striking Rosemond’s young son.

The incident caused outrage at the time, as well as condemnation from activists like Al Sharpton.

Tony Yayo was put on probation for the incident as well.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Serena Williams Says She Was “Back-Stabbed” Over Leak Of Her Rap Song

Hip-Hop Rumors: Serena Williams Says She Was “Back-Stabbed” Over Leak Of Her Rap Song

While everyone was raving that Serena Williams may have a bit of raw talent in the booth after her rap song leaked last week, Serena was home fuming. The tennis champ is super upset that the song leaked because she did not give her approval for the release. Check out what she told the Atlanta Black Star below:

“Well, I was in the studio with friends and I wanted to do something and so they said â€" do this and it was for me. The next thing I know â€" that was one or two years ago and then I read online that I was a rapper and so my back-stabbing friends did that to me and so if I see them, I will act like a rapper â€" if you can get my drift.”

I guess we won’t be getting any new Serena Williams music anytime soon; and whoever leaked that music better watch their back. Serena doesn’t sound like she’s playing!

In related news, rapstress Rah Digga was not feeling Serena’s metaphors in the track and took a few shots at her on Twitter page, tweeting, “I’m always on top…roofer” Serena Williams’ new song…I mean…ok fine.”

I’m sure Rah Digga will be glad to hear that Serena is not quitting her day job.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Lil’ Kim Says Biggie’s Mom “Doesn’t Know Biggie And She Barely Knows Christopher”

Hip-Hop Rumors: Lil’ Kim Says Biggie’s Mom “Doesn’t Know Biggie And She Barely Knows Christopher”

The Queen Bee, Lil Kim, was a guest on New York morning radio show, “The Breakfast Club”, and was really outspoken about her dislike for the Notorious movie focusing on the life of slain rapper, The Notorious B.I.G.

Kim cites one her main reasons for not liking the movie as her feeling that the people who made it didn’t know Biggie. One person in particular, according to Kim, is Biggie’s very own mother, Voletta Wallace. Check out what Lil’ Kim said below:

“See, Big’s mom doesn’t know Biggie, and she barely knows Christopher.” said Lil’ Kim. “It’s the truth.”

“She used to kick him out daily. She did not care to know him, or get to know him during the time….she didn’t know him.”

Wow, that’s harsh.

During the interview, Charlamagne The God hit Lil’ Kim with a very direct question about her cosmetic surgery. The Queen Bee was not amused. Check out her response below:

“Why would you ask me that, but there’s so many people who have surgery? I don’t know where that question is coming from.”

Kim addressed the plastic surgery at the 18:29 mark of the interview. You can watch the video here.

Do you think it’s right for Lil’ Kim to comment on the type of relationship Biggie had with his mother?

LYRICS THAT SPEAK: “Keep Ya Head Up”

LYRICS THAT SPEAK: “Keep Ya Head Up”

“And even though you’re fed up/ Ya got to keep ya head up”

Some songs are simply timeless. Some are relevant, five, 10, or even 50 years, after their debut. “Keep Ya Head Up” was the hood’s anthem, but also played a tune that the world could understand. It was as if scars and bruises were being exposed, with no bandages in sight. Even with the raw realties of many brought front and center, and Pac’s storytelling taking some back to nightmares, there is still a beautiful calmness about this record.

“But please don’t cry, dry your eyes, never let up/ Forgive, but don’t forget, girl keep your head up”

What life throws us, we don’t always see coming. Other times, we think we are a little tougher than we really are. We walk right into the fire, as if we can’t get burned. It’s as if we take Tupac telling us to keep our heads up a little too literally. Our heads are so high; they’re now in the clouds. No one can tell us anything, and because of that, we can’t see that no good will come from that. Yes, sometimes we’re the only one to blame for our heads being so low, because of the weight of the world. Yet and still, we find a way to be better, and lift our heads back up.

“You know it’s funny when it rains it pours/ They got money for wars, but can’t feed the poor/
Said it ain’t no hope for the youth, and the truth is/ it ain’t no hope for tha future”

What we see around us can be so disheartening. Yet and still we still have an obligation to ourselves, and the youth, to give what we got coming up. If that wasn’t much, give what you need, and in turn you will get something out the deal, too. Stand as an example that the Hip-Hop community is more than what we are perceived as. We’re college grads, people that go to work every day, business starters and owners. We believe in, and have stable families, and we give back. We have a lot to say, and a lot of changes to make in this world.

“Cause I think we can make it, in fact, I’m sure/ And if you fall, stand tall, and comeback for more”

KEEP YA HEAD UP.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Kim Kardashian With Kanye West So She Can “Get Close To Beyonce”

Hip-Hop Rumors: Kim Kardashian With Kanye West So She Can “Get Close To Beyonce”

The NY Daily News is reporting that according to a source inside the Kardashian camp, one of the main reasons Kim Kardashian is dating Kanye West is to get close to his A-list friends, in particular, Beyonce. The reality star may get her chance this week.

Kim K. is currently in London accompanying Yeezy, where he will be performing alongside Jay-Z for their “Watch The Throne” concerts at London’s O2 Arena beginning on Friday.

“Kim wants to travel everywhere with Kanye, but she’s also trying to do whatever she can to get close to Beyoncé,” says the source.

“So, if Bey and Jay are going, she’s going,” the insider adds.

The insider also admits that Kim is “very into Kanye,” and that Kanye “absolutely adores her.”

Kardashian’s spokeswoman has said that Kim has had the London trip “on her calendar since last year” to promote her perfume and do press.

“It’s a coincidence that the concerts are at the same time,” she says.

If I start seeing pictures of Beyonce hanging out with Kim Kardashian, I am going to flip my lid. Don’t do it Beyonce! She’s not in your league!

(AllHipHop News) An article published by the New York Daily News helped triggered the demise of a massive cocaine operation, allegedly headed up by James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond.

Rosemond is currently on trial in Brooklyn, New York, for allegedly masterminding the $ 10 million-a-year cocaine operation, that shipped drugs from Los Angeles to New York, and sent the proceeds back West.

The organization would ship hundreds of kilos of cocaine per month in music crates and vacuum sealed bags, using various overnight services.

The organization employed the same technique with millions in cash as well, according to testimony from Khalil Abdullah.

Abdullah, 38, was a high-ranking, trusted manager in the organization, who is now cooperating with the government and testifying against Rosemond.

Today (May 16) in court, Khalil Abdullah testified that a September 2010 article published in the New York Daily News convinced him that Rosemond was cooperating with authorities.

Abdullah was aware an investigation was taking place and was fearful that Rosemond would turn him.

The New York Daily News article claimed that Rosemond had already cooperated with federal authorities in two previous cases, one in North Carolina and the other in Florida.

When Abdullah read the article, he testified that he did his own research and found official court documents, which confirmed that Rosemond had indeed cooperate with authorities, in two separate cases.

“I believed it was true…he said it wasn’t true. My opinion was strong,” Abdullah testified. “If he did it before, he would do it again. That’s when I decided to take action myself. I was the dude on the front line.”

This information, along with previous articles written by journalist Chuck Philips and documents that circulated through prison, helped undermine Rosemond’s credibility in the underworld.

It was then, that Abdullah hatched a
bizarre plan, contacted the FBI, the DEA and the New York prosecutors office, in hopes of setting up Rosemond and his associates.

Incredibly, Khalil Abdullah went to a Kinko’s in Atlanta Georgia, typed up a letter to the FBI, the DEA and the New York prosecutor’s office.

He revealed the details behind a large shipment that was expected to arrive in New York that same day.

Abdullah then set up a long time associate and told him that there was $ 1 million in cash at Smash Recording Studios in New York.

Abdullah said he instructed the associate to leave $ 650,000 behind, which was the amount he said was waiting for the FBI, in hopes of concealing and stealing, the $ 400,000 difference.

Abdullah said he continued to associate with Rosemond and act like he was clueless as to any investigations into the organization.

Abdullah testified that he was “stunned” when authorities presented a photograph of him faxing the document at Kinko’s, since the company takes footage of every person that sends a fax.

But Rosemond’s attorney Gerald Shargel vigorously cross-examined Khalil Abdullah and questioned his motives to testify.

According to Abdullah himself, he has met with prosecutors 16 times in the past year, with eight of those dates dedicated to pre-trial coaching.

Shargel also went through a number of allegations that were presented by the prosecution, and noted that there was no physical or actual connection to Rosemond in any of the evidence presented thus far.

Khalil Abdullah admitted on the stand that he has a cooperation agreement in place with authorities, in addition to having to pay back a $ 100,000 fine.

Abdullah testified that from 2007 until 2011, he earned over $ 4 million in illegal drug proceeds.

Testimony continues all this week.
